"The Children of Noisy Village" by Astrid Lindgren

It was the third class of my primary school when I've read this book for the first time. I remember that it was like an amazing journey ! I simply loved this book and that is why I've read it several times and now I think that  I would like to do it once again :) It's Polish title is "Dzieci z Bullerbyn" and as the title says the book is about six children who are living in a Swedish village known as Bullerby. Little Lisa tells us about the incredible adventures of those six Bullerby children. It's hard to describe the book in a nutshell but it is necessary to say that reading "The Children of Noisy Village" was one of the most magical moments in my childhood :)

MY HOME-TOWN :)

Divided by the Warta river, Śrem is one of the oldest town in Wielkopolska. In spite of the fact that Śrem is not the most widely – known place on earth, visitors can find here an enormous variety of places worth seeing.
Śrem is located by the Warta river, in the place, where the river violently turns and changes the direction of the downstream. To the east of the river, the Old Town is stretching. Built in a Gothic style, the buildings delight every visitor. Magnificent castles, splendid churches and greatly – illuminated marketplace give an incessant feeling of being in a highly cultural place, where the time has stopped for a while. You may have an impression that somebody has turned the clock fifty years. Surrounded by restaurants, the town hall is surprisingly easy to see, because of the old – fashioned style and an enormous clock striking the hour. In contrast, walking through the bridge across the river, a modern town is situated. Crowded streets, deafening noise and the air polluted by industrial emissions are characteristic features for this part of Śrem. If you want to find modern supermarkets, the most advanced shopping centers, exclusive hotels and restaurants, you are in the right place. The climate of this part of the town is radically different from the Old Town. All in all, it might be said that Śrem is a city of many cultures.
Undeniably, you can find an endless variety of entertainment in Śrem. Anyone will choose something interesting, irrespective of age. First of all, opened in 1995, the museum is visited by people, who are interested in history. Second of all, there is a small cinema and theatre for those, who do not like sightseeing. Moreover, there is a wide range of restaurants serving superb local cuisine. Undoubtedly, Tropicana restaurant is worth recommending. The thing that impresses people most about this restaurant is the perfect combination of glamour, variety of dishes and the unique surrounding. What is more, a sport center with a pool, a fitness club and an ice rink is also worth going to.
Taking everything into consideration, to my point of view, Śrem is unique because of its location and the atmosphere.  Because of the markedly contrasting features, you will never get bored here. Visiting my home – town is both exciting and amazing. I am fully convinced that if people come here, they will not regret.
